Proverbs 7:21-23
21"With much seductive speech she persuades him;
with her smooth talk she compels him.
22All at once he follows her,
as an ox goes to the slaughter,
or as a stag is caught fast
23till an arrow pierces its liver;
as a bird rushes into a snare;
he does not know that it will cost him his life."
The seductive adulteress is that of the devil. She appears beautiful and bold, but in the end it costs him his life. Sin is the same. And Satan. It appears to be delightful, just like the forbidden fruit, but it leads to death.
Lord,
I pray for discernment of the things that appear pleasing. Show me Your way, although it may look drab, in the end it is perfect. Amen.
